When making candied or Carmel apples, use large fresh leaves instead of wax paper and fresh twigs instead of popsicle sticks. The beautiful rustic presentation will leave them breathless. Be sure to rinse leaves and twigs carefully before use.
Place "eyeball" gum eyes-up in the chip bowls.
Arrange plastic novelty spider rings in popcorn. Looks cool and is a good party favor for guests.
Make popcorn garland for decoration! Popcorn garland is inexpensive and a great way to keep kids busy while you get the last minute details in order. Remind guests not to eat popcorn if stale!
Make a great centerpiece by using a pumpkin! Hollow out a medium - large pumpkin and create a hole in back of pumpkin large enough to insert low watt bulb or holiday strand lights for illumination. Take a couple bags of lollypops (depends on size of pumpkin) and insert lollys into the pumpkin after creating holes in pumpkin with an awl or 9/64 inch bit power drill. When the lollys are pulled, the holes will illuminate! Be sure to use lollypops with a plastic sticks... paper sticks get soggy. You can also use synthetic foam pumpkins such as Funkins.
Hollow gourds and pumpkins make great chip and dip bowls. Plus they have a wide lip which is great for setting accents on such as fake spiders and creatures! Good for soups too!
Offer a small Best Costume Prize (a gift certificate from a party store perhaps?), put it in a Ziploc and bury in a pumpkin filled with pumpkin "guts" for them to dig for.... yucky fun!
Putting pieces if meat such as gizzards or livers into empty jars with strange colored liquid and creepy labels makes for a gross and fun decoration. Prepare your jars a month in advance for the creepiest look!
